About Unbroken Athlete
As two professionals who help professional and collegiate athletes succeed throughout their athletic journey, Dr. Catherine Logan, MD & Emily Perrin, LMSW, are well versed in the advancements of injury prevention, strength and conditioning, nutrition, mental health & performance, recovery & rehabilitation.
Dr. Catherine Logan, MD, MBA is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine in Denver, CO. As a nutrition coach and former physical therapist, she embodies a unique skill set that spans the spectrum from injury prevention and performance to injury treatment and recovery. She trained at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program and The Steadman Clinic, and now serves as Team Physician for USA Lacrosse and US Ski & Snowboard Teams.
Dr. Logan is also the co-host of the popular sports medicine podcast, The Sports Docs Podcast with her former Harvard co-resident, Dr. Ashley Bassett.
Emily Perrin, LMSW is a Mental Health Therapist with a Masters in Clinical Social Work. As a former DI soccer player (UVA) and DI soccer coach (UPenn), Emily knows firsthand both the physical and mental demands of the elite athlete. Emily’s unique approach to working with athletes through Mindfulness, meditation, breath work and yoga helps athletes holistically address their mental health, performance and overall well being.
Emily’s current and former clients include athletes and teams at schools like Duke, UVA, Stanford, Michigan, Penn and Villanova. Emily serves as the Director of the Medical Advisory Council for Morgan’s Message, a non profit dedicated to breaking the mental health stigma and educating athletes on mental health.

2. Acclimating to the New Normal
Lessons and meditations to help navigating isolation, recognizing your strengths that will help you, and an intro to mindfulness - laying the foundation of your recovery toolbox.
3. Stress Management
You are bound to experience some type of stress throughout your ACL recovery. We want to set you up for success and support you in navigating whatever stress may arise in the next few months.
4. Goal Setting
From breaking down long term goals into short term goals, to celebrating the small wins as you track your progress - you will be set up for success. We will begin Visualization to help you build the skills for later return to sport.
5. Building a Mindful Muscle
Cultivating resilience involves the mind and the body - you will learn the tools pro athletes use including body scanning, body awareness and connecting to your breath.
6. Working with Anxiety and Fear
Anxiety and fear are a normal part of your ACL recovery. This module will provide you with the tools to work with anxious thoughts and build the skills to cope with these thoughts.
7. Athlete Identity
Acknowledging the impact of injury on your identity and building ways to stay connected to your sport - as well as explore new dimensions of your athlete identity - are important steps in your ACL recovery captured in this module.
8. Mindfulness & The Present Moment
Learning to cultivate your attention is a skill not only crucial for your ACL recovery, but for your eventual return to activity. Through meditation and visualizations, this module focuses on building your ability to stay in the present.
9. Self Talk
We will explore the value of self talk, whether it be positive or neutral, and how athletes around the globe utilize this technique. Learn how it will affect your ACL recovery journey.
10. Building Confidence, Resilience & Adaptability
